The story behind it

I made this bar first because I couldn't figure out why my store-bought soap had 22 ingredients. Soap is one of the oldest things humans make. It shouldn't be complicated. After a lot of failed batches and a kitchen that smelled like a chemistry lab, this is the one I kept coming back to. It's quiet. It works.

How it’s made

Cold process. Olive oil, water, lye — that's the base. The lye is consumed in the reaction (saponification), so nothing caustic makes it into your bar. I cure each batch for 4-6 weeks so the bar hardens up and the soap is mild. No shortcuts on the cure time.
