Kokum butter is a dense, non-greasy plant butter that melts on contact with skin. It carries garcinol, a proven antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, alongside stearic acid that rebuilds the skin barrier and oleic acid that penetrates to nourish below the surface. It is one of the few butters that is completely non-comedogenic. Coconut oil contributes lauric acid — naturally antimicrobial — plus medium-chain fatty acids that absorb quickly and leave skin feeling clean and hydrated rather than coated. Two ingredients. Both with centuries of use. Both with a reason to be there. Coconut oil also offers mild natural UV protection — research puts it at roughly SPF 7, providing a small but real buffer against UV radiation. Garcinol and vitamin E in kokum butter are strong antioxidants that neutralize free radicals generated by sun exposure, helping to prevent the oxidative damage that accelerates aging. Used consistently, this combination supports skin that becomes genuinely more resilient to sun over time.

The story behind it
The plant-based counterpart to the tallow balm — for anyone who wants the same barrier support without an animal ingredient. Kokum brings the structure, coconut brings the glide.
How it’s made
Kokum butter and virgin coconut oil are melted together and whipped smooth, then poured by hand. Two ingredients, small batches, nothing else.
